Miyazaki Towel Imabari Mufflers & Shawls
Miyazaki Towel is a family-run towel maker that has been weaving in Imabari since 1896. Imabari is Japan’s best-known towel-making region, and Miyazaki Towel brings that same softness and quality to scarves and shawls you can wear every day.

Imabari and Its Cotton Roots
Imabari has thrived as a cotton textile region since the Edo period, when it was known for its white cotton cloth. Local makers later learned to produce cotton flannel from Kishu (now Wakayama) and brought the technique home. At its peak, Imabari flannel made up 16% of Japan’s total production, and half of it was exported.
The region’s journey from white cotton to flannel to towels is also the story of Miyazaki Towel.
Grown on the Alvarez Farm
Every muffler and shawl is made with Supima organic cotton grown on the Alvarez Farm. Organic farming gives this long-fiber cotton its natural softness, and the material is at the heart of everything Miyazaki Towel makes.
Woven by Skilled Hands
In the Miyazaki Towel workshop, experienced craftspeople weave and finish each piece with the same care that has made Imabari towels famous. The result is a scarf that is light and soft, and gets even better with every wash.
Made for Every Day
Miyazaki Towel’s mufflers and shawls are light, never bulky, and dry quickly even as you walk. You can wash them as often as you like, just like a towel.
With long use and many washes, the threads gently twist to form soft stripes about 5mm apart. It’s a natural part of the fabric’s character, and a sign of a scarf that’s truly lived in.
