000 is a jewelry brand made almost entirely from thread. It comes from Kasamori, a long-established embroidery maker in Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, a town known for its textiles. In 2010, Kasamori used its decades of embroidery know-how to launch 000, creating a whole new kind of accessory: light, soft, and gentle on the skin.

Kasamori was founded in 1877 as a weaver of obi, the sash worn with a kimono, and later moved into embroidery. Over the decades, it built a reputation for difficult, detailed embroidery. Its work has even been chosen by overseas fashion houses for their couture collections.

Each piece begins as a hand-drawn sketch, which is turned into a carefully calculated embroidery program. The design is stitched onto a water-soluble base, then washed by hand so only the thread remains and the jewelry takes its 3D shape. Finally, craftspeople check and finish every piece by hand.
