Daruma Kogin Needles
Kogin needles are longer than regular embroidery needles to allow for longer stitches, as the technique involves counting and stitching along the fabric weave. They are also thicker than standard sashiko needles to match the thickness of kogin thread.
What is Kogin Embroidery?
Kogin is a traditional sashiko technique from the Tsugaru region in northern Japan. It’s known for being stitched in odd-numbered counts, producing beautiful, geometric patterns. Unlike standard sashiko, kogin is typically done on linen fabric.
